Who are you?
Take a moment to answer this question and look at your initial responses.
Did you mention what you do for work, marital status, children, where you live, etc. None of these things are about who you are - they are roles that you are playing at this moment. So often, we confuse who we are with what we do, but what we do is changeable whereas who I am is more solid.
Who I am is also not the things that I like? because these too change.
So then, who am I?
This is the age old question and we each need to connect with our own answer.
For me, through my mindfulness practices, I have an inner sense of me that is solid, firm and unchanging, irrespective of what is going on in my outer life. I consider this to be my core, who I really am.
